Title: Tradeshows Exhibiting - worth the cost?
We are a new company, two owners wearing all hats. We produce a service product for hospitality industry. We are contrasting the value of hospitality industry tradeshow participation for sales and leads vs direct marketing to potential clients. As you know, the costs of participation in a tradeshow, particularly those out of town or country, are very high. We are interested in more experienced business owners feedback on the actual ROI they had from tradeshow exhibiting vs choosing a direct contact to potential clients approach. There are too many variables to provide a definitive answer. Ask the same question of past attendees to specific shows that interest you. If it's an either/or scenario, direct marketing wins until you can afford to do both, IMO. Good luck!
I was wondering the same. I'm launching my company in the spring and after touring the Fall Home Shows I was really left debating what the ROI would be considering I could get a month long radio ad for the same cost, and a lot less work. Anyone?

Hi, i am also a relatively new company. We have attended approx. 15 different trade shows, what I have found was they were very good for getting our name out there but lacked in getting a lot of new sales that were directly related to the shows.
