5 Must-Have Apps for Entrepreneurs

Technology | Posted by YouInc.com - July 16, 2013 at 5:57 pm

The world has changed for entrepreneurs. Gone are the days when business owners would show up for a client meeting with a briefcase full of files. Through their mobile devices, today's tech savvy entrepreneur has all of the information that they need right at their fingertips. With the mobile apps that are available today, entrepreneurs are able to accomplish more than ever before, from wherever they happen to be. Check out these 5 apps that every entrepreneur should try.

Dropbox is an online backup service that provides users with cloud storage for their files. This app allows entrepreneurs to backup their files and to easily share them with staff members and clients. Once saved, these files can be accessed directly from the website or from a mobile device.

Do you find it a struggle to keep organized? Do you often see something that could benefit your business, or come up with an amazing idea, only to forget about it a few minutes later? Consider what you could achieve if you were able to hold on to those brief moments of inspiration. What have those missed opportunities cost your business? With Evernote, entrepreneurs can make notes, take photos, create lists, make voice reminders and store all of this information in one searchable location.

Splashtop 2

Splashtop is a remote desktop. It allows users to access the content on their desktop using any mobile device. This gives entrepreneurs access to their computer from anywhere, which is useful if they are attending meetings outside of the office.

Have you ever made an appointment and forgotten to put it into your calendar? Keeping your calendar up to date can be a challenge and if you forget about an appointment, you could lose a client or damage a relationship. Fantastical offers a solution to that problem. With Fantastical, you can type "Lunch with Steve at 1pm on Friday" and it will automatically be added into your calendar. You can also provide the information about the event using voice dictation.

Genius Scan

This app turns your mobile device into a pocket scanner that you can use to scan documents and put them into a PDF file for easy e-mailing, printing and saving. Genius scan eliminates the need for copy shops as it allows you to quickly scan receipts, contracts and other important documents. It is fast and easy to use.

The business environment is constantly changing. New apps are being created every day that can help you be more effective and efficient in your work. Even if you aren't particularly interested in this new technology, you can be guaranteed that your competition is using it. You may want to make an effort to keep up to date, otherwise before long you will discover that you've been left behind.

Just me, but would links to the apps not be important? Also, why not show us samples of the apps. Would this not be a professional way of doing this article? This kind a looks like it was copied from http://www.articlecube.com/

I like Dropbox downloads fast. I think I will try Genius Scan. I am also looking for a scanner that will scan my receipts then post them automatically to Simply Accounting now that would be so cool.
Is there an accounting software out there that can do this yet?

I use LogMeIn and this has worked great for me to get to all my remote computers via the phone, iPad or laptop ...

Another great tool that I use often... is Skitch (by Evernote) not sure if it's available on Windows, but it's a great tool on the Mac.

Personally, these would not be my top five. But, thank you I will research three of them. I am not a big fan of dropbox. I like to use Google Docs, Asana and logmein. They would be in my top three for productivity.
