Title: How to approach corporate?
Category: Money

Hi there. I am a leadership and executive women strategically position themselves for career advancement and to negotiate their worth. 100% of my clients have successfully into Senior Director, and C-suite positions. The success has been excellent for my clients but difficult for me to sustain as I am always having to find new clients. I did some business planning to approach corporate? I've reached out to CEOs. I feel 'unsure' how to make the pitch. I know I really only have a few moments to make an impression. Advice on approaching corporate? Kristina

Hi Kristina,

One of the challenges of running a service-based business is the ongoing need to pitch new clients. The good news is that you have a perfect track record with your past clients. You just need a strategy to let people know about the great work you do. Here are some easy ways to make that important first impression.

  • Hone your elevator pitch. You need to quickly be able to tell people what you sell, who you sell it to and why they need it. The more you practice it, the easier it will be to deliver.
  • Make sure that your website it up-to-date. Just like your elevator pitch, the content on your site should clearly reflect what it is that you sell and who you sell it to.
  • Network. Look at the calendar, choose half a dozen events you want to attend this year and go meet people in your industry. Even if you aren’t connecting with your exact perfect targets, you’ll have a chance to practice your elevator pitch and increase the chance that referrals will come your way.
  • Develop a target list of people you want to meet. You say that you’ve reached out to CEOs. How many? 20? 50? 100? Create a data base of everyone you want to connect with and start working the phones and sending out your marketing materials. It’s simple math: The more people you reach out to, the greater likelihood of converting new clients.

Approaching corporate is just like pitching anybody else: Make a plan, make your pitch and be confident that your offering is the best it can be.
